Canada needs a national securities regulator.
When it comes to the federal government’s proposed plan for a national securities regulator, Canada is a deeply divided nation. B.C., Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Quebec and Alberta have banded together to fight the proposed initiative believing the power should rest with each province not a centralized authority. As we await the Supreme Court of Canada’s decision on the matter, Advisor.ca has asked two outspoken proponents to share their thoughts in our first ever Point of View debate. What do you think?
